Shanghai Shuzao Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shuzao Tech") was founded in 2004. It is a national high-tech enterprise and a specialized, refined, differential, and innovative enterprise in Shanghai, dedicated to the research, development, production, and promotion of industrial-grade additive manufacturing (3D printing) solutions.
Shuzao Technology has specialized in the 3D printing industry for 22 years. Headquartered in Pudong, Shanghai, with subsidiaries in Zhaoxiang, Qingpu, Shanghai, and Xiangtan, Hunan, the company operates over 2000 square meters of R&D, office, and production space. Its core products include high-tech equipment such as SLA resin 3D printers, ceramic 3D printers, and SLM laser metal powder bed fusion 3D printers. Shuzao also provides multi-material 3D printing, 3D scanning, and modeling inspection services, establishing a complete industrial chain from equipment and materials to end-to-end services.
Founder Introduction
Dr. Zhao Yi, from Xiangtan, Hunan, is the Chairman and CTO of Shuzao Technology. He earned his Ph.D. from Xi'an Jiaotong University and completed two postdoctoral research programs at Xi'an Jiaotong University and Jilin University. He previously served as an Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University for many years and currently serves on the National Additive Manufacturing Standardization Committee.
In 1994, Dr. Zhao Yi began researching photopolymer resins under the mentorship of Academician Lu Bingheng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He led the development of China's first SLA laser curing resin machine, earning the Second Prize in National Science and Technology Progress. While teaching at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1999, he foresightfully introduced the concept of "3D Digital Manufacturing." He founded UltraTech in 2000 and Shuzao Tech in 2004, driving the industrial adoption of additive manufacturing technologies in China.
After its establishment, Shuzao Technology, under the leadership of Dr. Zhao Yi, successfully developed and commercialized white light 3D scanners and laser-based human body 3D scanners, earning the Shanghai Science and Technology Award. The company continues to advance the R&D and mass production of next-generation additive manufacturing equipment, including stereolithography ceramic 3D printers and laser metal fusion 3D printers.
